Depending on the issue date and condition of your old Spider-Man comics, you could be sitting on a goldmine—or a near worthless pile of paper. Still, the fact remains that you want to sell your old Spider-Man comics and make as much profit as you can, but you're not sure exactly how to go about it. With a little bit of preparation and planning, you can find out how much your Spider-Man comics are worth and sell them to another comic book collector.

Instructions

    • 1

Inventory all the old Spider-Man comic books you own that you want to sell. Record the title of the comic book, the issue date, and the condition. If you're unsure how to rate the condition of your book, check the Certified Guaranty Company's comic grading scale. You can find further explanation of the grading scale at Comic Book Collection Made Easy.

Price your old Spider-Man comic books. You can find relative retail prices of old Spider-Man comic books from SamRuby.com or The Nostalgia Zone. You can obtain a more complete guide by purchasing the "Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide." List the prices next to your inventory entries. If you have a comic book that is valued at a lot of money, you might consider having it inspected by the CGC. Certified comic books are often worth more to collectors due to their verified authenticity.

Sign up to eBay and list your Spider-Man comic books there. Be sure to include all the relevant information about your comic book, especially the condition. Include information about any CGC grading certificates you may have. Use a digital camera to take pictures of your comic books, and upload multiple pictures of the front and back covers, as well as the condition of the inside. Consider selling the comic books as a collection to make your auction more appealing.

Call your local comic book store and see if they're interested in your old Spider-Man comic books. Selling your collection to a store might not give as great a return because the store needs to make their own profits. Regardless, if you haven't had luck selling elsewhere and you're ready to get rid of the comic books, selling to a local comic book store is an option.
