Print wedding announcements from home using a word processing program such as Microsoft Vista, which is the default word processing program for some PC computers. Design the wedding announcement with your program's custom template or design it with an online program and copy and paste it into a Microsoft Vista or other word-processing program document. After you add text, images and graphics, print the number of wedding announcements you need using a home printer.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase wedding stationery, which is available in a range of dimensions and paper stock. Purchase heavyweight ivory, cream or white paper for a traditional announcement and a heavyweight cabernet, marigold or lime color for a modern announcement.

    • 2

Connect the printer to your computer using the cables provided by the manufacturer. Switch the printer on and check the ink carriage, which will contain one color ink cartridge and one black ink cartridge. If one carriage is empty, load a new ink cartridge inside according to the manufacturer’s instructions, which you can find in your owner’s manual.

    • 3

Load the wedding stationery into the paper feeder tray.

    • 4

Open the file containing the wedding announcement template.

    • 5

View the announcement in the "Print Preview" window. Click "Print Preview," which you can access by clicking the "File" button on the toolbar at the top of the screen. Check that any images are not distorted, which can occur if the image is not properly sized. Check that lettering and graphics are correct.

    • 6

Enter the number of wedding announcements you need into the "Number of Copies" box. Click “OK” to print.

Tips & Warnings

  • As a general rule of thumb, wedding announcements feature an image of the newly engaged couple.

  • Always allow newly printed wedding announcement sufficient time to dry.

  • Always check that the printer you are using is designed to accept the type of paper you will be using, which is especially true for light tissue papers. Check the box for paper requirements.

  • Change to a different paper weight if the printer cannot handle the variety you wish to use.
