How do I Convert Mime to AVI?
MIME is a file extension that allows the transfer of non-text documents, such as AVIs or JPEGs, through email. Most email clients handle the encryption and decryption of MIME files automatically, but sometimes you have to convert a file manually. The most effective way to convert the file depends on what operating system you're running since some will automatically decompress the MIME when you save it locally.
Instructions

1
Double-click on the MIME file in your inbox. Sometimes the file will open with the appropriate application automatically. If it doesn't open correctly, then right-click on the file, choose "Open With..." and select your media player if you know the MIME file is an AVI video.
-
2
Download the MIME file to your computer. Right-click on it and select "Rename." Change the file so that it ends in .AVI and save it. If your OS warns you about changing the file type, click "OK" and then try to open your AVI file with a media player.

3
Decompress your MIME file with the free version of StuffIt Expander. Sometimes MIME files will change to their original formats once they are decompressed by another application. Your file will either decompress or StuffIt will give an error because it can't open the file.
-
4
Convert your file to an AVI if it decompresses to another video format, such as MPEG or FLV. Use a video converter such as MPEG Streamclip, Quicktime or Any Video Converter to open the file and save it as an AVI. Some applications require you to install additional codecs to create AVI files.
-
5
Use a MIME decoder to convert your file to its original form.

Tips & Warnings
If your MIME file opens but just displays a random string of text and characters, then you need to decompress it.
Some Internet browsers will open MIME files directly. Sometimes the "Save Page As..." command will let you resave the file as an AVI without converting it.
