How to Knit a Tablecloth Pattern
Humanity is driven by personalization. We love to have personalized towels, ring tones and books. Even the way we receive our bills is personalized to our specific tastes and needs. Personalization extends to our homes with people opting more often to enliven their living space with touches of themselves through arts and crafts. By knitting your own tablecloth, you can personalize your home and display your work proudly while knowing that your home furnishing was made ethically and fairly.

Knitting a Tablecloth from a Pattern
-
1
Find a pattern comparable to your skill level. Patterns can be found for free or for sale on knitting and craft websites, in knitting and craft magazines and in knitting and craft books. Creating your own pattern is also an option.
-
2
Purchase the materials needed to complete the project as outlined in the pattern. At the very least, you will need one set of knitting needles and a few skeins of wool. The pattern will clearly instruct you on which sizes and types of needles, wool and embellishments to use.

Consult the legend on your pattern to determine what the symbols mean. Knitting legends vary from pattern to pattern, so always consult the legend before beginning a project.

Tips & Warnings
As you go through the pattern, you might find it helpful to check off rows as you complete them. If you need to put down the project and return to it at a later date, you will be able to determine where to begin.
You do not have to stick to the type and color of wool your pattern calls for. Knit your tablecloth to reflect your personality and your home's decor. Speak with the shopkeeper when purchasing your materials about substituting with different weights of yarn, as all yarn is not directly interchangeable.
