How to Unlock the XM on a Pontiac Vibe
The Pontiac Vibe was a small wagon sold by General Motors. The Vibe was built on the same platform and shared its components with the Toyota Matrix. Both of these vehicles were built in GM and Toyota's partnership plant in California. Although the Pontiac brand is defunct, and the Vibe is no longer sold, you may want to unlock and activate the XM satellite. Used GM vehicles come with a free three-month trial to the XM service.

1
Crank your Vibe's engine. Push the "Mode" button several times until "XM" shows in the radio-display screen.

2
Turn the "Tune" knob to the right or the left. The "Tune" knob is located on the right side of the Vibe's radio.
-
-
3
Stop turning "Tune" when the station on the display screen shows "0". Setting the XM radio to station zero allows you to view the radio ID.
-

Write down the radio ID. Double-check it for accuracy. Call XM's activation line for used GM vehicles at 1-877-209-5079.
-
5
Give the representative the radio ID and request that the XM radio be unlocked and activated. The representative will do so over the phone. You'll be allowed a free trial for the service. After three months, you may call XM back and purchase a subscription.
