How to Obtain a Passport Number
Your passport number is printed in the front of your U.S. passport. If you need to know your passport number and can't find your passport, there are a couple of ways you can find out the information. Passport Services, a Service of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, keeps records of United States passport records for all passports issued by the United States government from 1925 to the present.

Find the paperwork that came with your passport. If you didn't throw the records away, your passport may have come with a card that had your passport number on it. Check your filing cabinets or other places you might have put the card.

2
Look for any photocopies you may have made of your passport. Passport instructions come with directions to sign your passport, take several photocopies of the front, and keep them in a safe place. Check with your close relatives to see if you left the photocopy with them.
