Research the market for the specific year and make of truck you want to sell. Online classified ads are a good start. Ebay Motors may have something to compare in the active or completed auctions. Hemming's Motor News has been around for years and is a good source of classified ads to compare your truck with. Many libraries have back issues, and there is also an online version. Local car clubs often have members who are a good source of market knowledge. Price guides are available specifically for classic cars and trucks. You should look at a broad range of prices to get a feel for the market.

Determine the condition of your classic truck. Miles don't matter on classic cars as much as condition. There are guides to a 100-point restoration and a good market exists for usable "daily driver" antique trucks. Buyers pay the highest prices for "completely stock" or "completely custom." Any replacement motors or other major parts in the truck need to be original equipment parts for best value. An exception might be the addition of power brakes or power steering that make the classic truck more drivable.
