1
Mark the desired outline of the wall fountain onto a 1/2-inch-thick marine plywood board. A simple rectangle works for this DIY project, but so does a circle, a square or a free-form wave design. Cut the board on the marked outline.
-
2
Select a rectangular planter for the wall fountain reservoir that's at least 8-inches deep. The width of the planter should be at least 16 inches. If the planter has drainage holes, cover them with rubber plugs or silicone sealant.

3
Drill a 1/2-inch diameter opening on the board for the fountain spout. Depending on your design, you can place the opening in the center, top, bottom or anywhere on the wall fountain design.
-
4
Paint both sides of the wall fountain board with exterior paint to coordinate with the colors in the sea glass. This step is not necessary if you are covering the board with river rock, copper or some other facing that is not translucent. Let the paint dry.
-
5
Attach pieces of sea glass to the front of the wall fountain board using clear waterproof construction adhesive. Place the sea glass pieces as close as possible and do not cover the drilled opening. Attach sea glass around the cut perimeter of the board and do not allow the glass to extend beyond the back rim of the board's edge. Let the adhesive dry.
-
6
Place the submersible fountain pump inside the planter. Cut a length of copper tubing to fit from the spout on the pump to the opening in the fountain wall.
-
7
Line up one end of the copper tubing with the opening on the back side of the wall board. Attach the copper to the back of the board with duct tape. Secure the tube along the back of the wall board with more duct tape.
-
8
Attach wall fasteners to the back side of the wall board. Attach corresponding wall fasteners to the wall on which you plan to hang the fountain. Be sure to attach the fasteners to wall studs in a sheetrock wall. You can use concrete wall anchors on a masonry wall. Hang the wall fountain.
-
9
Position the planter beneath the wall fountain. Attach the copper tubing to the spout on the pump. Fill the planter with water.
