How to Edit and Forward Mail Addresses
Travel worry free, knowing that you will still have your mail delivered. Sometimes people will move to a temporary location for an extended period of time, maybe a job has given a temporary assignment to a remote location. or maybe an error has been made on a permanent address change. The post office is capable of adjusting to suit your needs in all of these situations. The process is simple and the post office is flexible.

Visit your local post office.

Communicate with the clerk your interest in forwarding your mail. There will be a few options available to you. Temporary change of address, permanent change of address, or premium forwarding service.

Select the service most appropriate to your needs. If doing a permanent or temporary move, fill out a change of address form (This can be done on-line as well for a $1 fee.) Premium forwarding service can also be chosen for a fee, enrollment is $15 plus $13.95 a week as of 2010 for forwarding (all forwarding is with a Priority mailer once a week.)
