How to Make Calendar Stock Paper

How to Make Calendar Stock Paper thumbnail
Handmade calendars can keep track of your schedules.

Using a calendar can help you maintain your personal schedule and make sure that you do not miss important appointments or meetings. Although there are many calendars in supermarkets and department stores, they may not be large enough or organized in a way that suits your schedule. One solution is to make your own calendar out of card stock paper. Once each calendar page has been created, you can place the papers together to make a year-long calendar.

Things You'll Need

  • 12 sheets white card stock, 8-by-10 inches
  • Ruler
  • Colored pencils
  • Single hole punch
  • Pencil
  • Twine

Instructions

    • 1

Stack 12 sheets of card stock horizontally onto a table top.

    • 2

Use a ruler to make a grid onto the top of each sheet of card stock. Make the grid seven columns wide and six rows high. You can make the grid as small or as wide as you like to suit your needs. For example, if you need more room to write out a daily plan or schedule, make the grid squares larger.

    • 3

Write the days of the week onto the top boxes, one per box. Although many calendars typically start the week with Sunday, you can customize your handmade calendar to suit your schedule.

    • 4

Use colored pencils to write a month of the year onto each sheet, one per sheet. You can embellish the month names to make them look festive. For example, decorate the month of November with turkeys, autumn leaves and pumpkins.

    • 5

Write the dates into each month's page. If you run out of room at the end, which is typical even in commercial calendars, split the last grid squares in half, diagonally, to extend them.

    • 6

Measure along the top of each page, and mark every inch with a pencil.

    • 7

Punch out a hole on each mark using a single hole punch.

    • 8

Wrap twine through the holes to attach the pages of the calendar together. Knot each end off by tying it to the last hole twice.

    • 9

      Cut off the excess twine.
