How to Style Curly Hair With Mousse
Hair mousse is a lightweight foamy product used to style hair. Certain mousse formulas are designed to add volume while others define curl and decrease frizz. If you have curly hair look for a mousse product designed for your hair type. If your hair is very curly, look for a product that defines curls, and if your hair is more wavy, look for a product that encourages curls. Curly hair is generally very thick so you do not want to use a product that encourages volume Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
Read the directions on your bottle of mousse. Some products direct you to shake container before applying while others do not.
You want to apply mousse to hair that is 50 to 70 percent dry.
If you are in a rush apply mousse to damp hair and allow hair to finish drying naturally. Continue to scrunch hair as it dries to encourage curl. Wrap a few curls around fingers to encourage curl and definition.
If you use mousse most days to style curly hair use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove product build up.
Mousse will leave a sticky residue on the hands so wash hands after applying product.
If you use too much mousse, your hair may look greasy and weighed down. Start using a smaller amount of mousse and add as needed.
Some mousse products are highly flammable so check the label. If the product is flammable stay clear of fire, and excessive heat.
Some mousse products contain alcohol, and this can dry out hair.
