How to Download Microsoft Document Imaging

Microsoft Office Document Imaging lets you scan paper documents and convert them to a digital form--Microsoft Document Imaging Format (MDI) or Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)--to be saved on your hard drive. Microsoft Document Imaging was offered only with Microsoft Office 2007 and was not included with Office 2010. To download MS Document Imaging, you must have MS Office 2007.

Instructions

      Go to a website that offers a download of Office 2007 (see Resources).

      Click "Download"; if prompted, select "Microsoft Office Standard 2007."

      Save the installation file on your desktop.

    • 4

      Run the installation file, and follow the prompts. When you're asked to select the applications to install, check the box next to "Document Imaging."

Tips & Warnings

  • You won't find a download link to Office 2007 on the manufacturer's website.
