How to Unlock the LG C1500 Cell by IMEI Number
All GSM network phones, including the LG C1500, come with a unique IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. By submitting this number, either to your network provider or to an online remote unlocking company, a logarithm is calculated to find your unique unlock code. By unlocking your phone through this process, you'll be able to use foreign or prepaid SIM cards, which essentially means that you can use the service provider of your choice without having to buy a new phone.
Instructions
-
-
1
Turn on your phone and navigate to the home screen.
-
2
Type "*#06#" into your keypad to obtain your LG C1500's unique IMEI number, which will be displayed on your screen.
-
-
3
Call your service provider's customer service tech support and ask for an unlock code. You'll need to give them your IMEI number, cell number and email. If they won't give you a code, you can buy one from a remote unlocking site, such as UnlockToTalk.com, FonesZone.co.uk or MobileUnlockSolutions.com (see links in Resources section).
-
4
Turn off your phone, and remove its SIM card.
-
5
Insert a foreign or pre-paid SIM card into your phone, and turn it back on.
-
6
Press "Cancel" when a message appears saying "Phone Restricted."
-
7
Enter the unlock code you received earlier when your phone's screen says "Phone Restriction Code," and select "OK." Your phone is now unlocked and ready to use on your new network.
