How to Troubleshoot Audio on a Sony Bravia KDL-52WL

This is typically not an indication of any problem with the TV's audio components, but more often a simple issue that can be resolved by taking a few simple troubleshooting steps on your own.

Instructions

1. Press the "Mute" or volume up control on the Bravia's remote to deactivate muting. If you see the volume slider on the TV screen, the TV has been unmuted.

2. Press the "Menu" button on the Bravia remote and access the audio settings by pressing the speaker graphic from the main menu. Scroll down to the "Speakers" section and set it to "TV Speakers."

3. Press the "Options" button on the Bravia remote and select "Audio options." Make sure MTS or SAP is not activated by selecting "Stereo" from the MTS option in the audio settings menu.
