How to Transfer a Locked Domain

Domain registrars typically lock their customers' domains to prevent unauthorized users from hijacking the domains and transferring them to different registrars. If you are authorized to access the domain settings, you can log into your account on the domain registrar's site and unlock the domain name, should you wish to transfer it to another registrar. After unlocking the domain, you can register and transfer the domain to any other domain registrar. Once the transfer is complete, you should lock the domain name again if your new registrar does not do it automatically.
