Adding webpages to PowerPoint

To embed live web pages into Powerpoint, you need to install a third party plug in for PowerPoint called LiveWeb. The plug in is free and was created by Shyam Pillai. It has been available for PowerPoint users since PowerPoint 97. It works on PowerPoint 97 and newer editions.

Instructions

  1. LiveWeb

    • 1

Click on the web page icon and select LiveWeb.

    • 2

Enter the URL of the web page to be added to the slide and click the Add button.

    • 3

Click the refresh box if the page needs to be refreshed every tim the slide is shown.

    • 4

Type in a percentage to determine how much space the web page takes on the displayed slide.

    • 5

Use the drop down menu to position the web page on the slide. The options are left justified, right justified and center.

    • 6

Click Next and then OK to finish adding the web page to your slide.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will have to enable Macros to allow LiveWeb to install. In PowerPoint 2003 and earlier the add-in is found the Tools menu. In 2007 and newer versions, it's found via the Office Button / PowerPoint Options / Add-Ins.

  • Click on "Edit Page Property" from the LiveWeb Menu any time you need to make changes to LiveWeb browser object. LiveWeb only runs on presentations playing through the full version of PowerPoint as it requires VBA.
