How to Easily Get Rid of Pimples

There are many different ways to get rid of pimples, but the simplest rely on the help of some common household items. But you must wait for the right moment to tackle the pimple, otherwise it may fight back--which means infection, and a bigger pimple. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Put a dab of toothpaste over the pimple as soon as you notice it--make sure it is paste, not gel, and mint or menthol works best. Put the toothpaste on before bed, and leave it overnight to help dry out the pimple.
-
2
For day use, dip a cotton swab in some tea tree oil or lavender oil and dab it onto the pimple. These oils are other drying agents, but both oils also have antibacterial properties and help kill the bacteria causing the pimple. Do this every day until the pimple disappears.

Wait to see if the pimple will dissipate from the toothpaste and oil treatments. But if the pimple progresses to the point where there is visible white pus under the skin, you can puncture the tip of the pimple to release the pus. Do this only when the pus is clearly visible underneath a thin layer of skin--too early, and you can cause the pimple to "invert" and become infected.

4
Dip the end of a needle into alcohol, tea tree oil, or lavender to disinfect it, and rub a bit of the alcohol or oil onto the pimple and your fingertips. Puncture the tip of the pimple with the needle, very gently breaking the skin. The pus will ooze out of its own accord at first.
-
5
Hold two cotton swabs in the fingers of both hands, and hold the swabs about 1/2 inch from the pimple on either side. Gently push the swabs toward each other, squeezing out the remaining pus, until you see clear liquid come from the pimple. Do not squeeze past this point. Dab the pimple with either tea tree or lavender oil.

6
Keep dabbing the pimple with tea tree or lavender for a couple more days to facilitate the healing process, and ensure the pimple doesn't reemerge.

Tips & Warnings
If you act as soon as you see a pimple, you can dramatically cut down the severity of the blemish and its duration.
Manuka honey, available in health food stores, is an alternative to toothpaste for reducing pimples at nighttime--apply a pea-sized amount to the pimple and cover with a bandage before bed.
Reduce pimple redness with eye drops for red eyes--apply a small amount with a cotton swab.
Trying to pop a pimple too early can cause the infected pore to burst inward instead of outward, creating an infection under the skin, which can take much longer to clear, and often leaves a scar.
