Instructions

    • 1

Mix mild detergent and water in a large bucket. You can also choose an awning cleaner. Unroll the awning 3 feet.

    • 2

Dip a scrub brush into the soapy mixture and scrub the awning stains. Let the soapy mixture sit on the stain for five minutes. Rinse with clean water.

    • 3

Apply the soapy mixture to the stain again and scrub with the scrub brush. Rinse with clean water. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove the stain.

    • 4

Roll out the awning another 3 feet and repeat the cleaning process. Repeat to clean the entire awning.

    • 5

Leave the awning unrolled and allow it to dry completely in the sun.

    • 6

Trim a piece of repair tape to match the size of the tear. The tape should overlap the tear by a couple of inches on each side. Hold the torn pieces of the awning together tightly or ask a friend to help. Place the repair tape over the rip and press firmly to adhere according to the package instructions.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prevent future stains by waiting until the awning is completely dry to roll it up. If you are forced to roll up the awning during a rain storm, unroll it and let it dry at the first opportunity.
