How to Replace a Hitachi LCD Lamp

The Hitachi 50VS69A LCD TV relies on an internal bulb to provide illumination. Replace the LCD lamp when it has dimmed or has blown out so that the TV can continue to be viewed. A replacement bulb from a Hitachi authorized dealer is required but not a trip to a service center--the modular nature of the Hitachi LCD TV makes removal and replacement of the bulb a user-serviceable operation. A few household tools are needed and adult supervision is a must if someone under age will be replacing the bulb. Does this Spark an idea?
