How Can I Unclog My Ears?
Wax buildup and fluids can cause ears to become clogged. Having clogged ears can be very painful, often affecting the ability to hear properly. Infrequently cleaning the ears can cause wax to collect and become packed inside of ears. Fluids collect in ears when the eustachian tube in the back of the throat becomes congested and can't regulate pressure in the ears. Mucus then collects behind the eardrum, causing ears to become clogged. Applying certain solutions to the ears can unclog wax and fluids, relieving ear pain.

How To Unclog Wax In Ears
-
1
Pour a drop of hydrogen peroxide into each ear, using an eyedropper. The hydrogen peroxide will soften the earwax, causing your ears to become unclogged.
-
2
Pour 1/4 cup of olive oil in a small saucepan, if the hydrogen peroxide did not unclog your ears. Boil the olive oil on the stove to body temperature, and then use the eyedropper to pour a couple drops of the oil into each ear.

Take a hot shower for 15 minutes, if your ears are still clogged with wax. The steam from the hot water will loosen the clogged earwax.
-
4
Clean the softened wax out of your ears with a cotton swab. Do not push the wax back into your ears, but gently remove the surfaced wax.
How To Unclog Fluids In Ears
-
5
Dampen a washcloth with warm water. Lay your head down and press the washcloth against your ear. Warm, moist heat is effective at relieving earaches.
-
6
Pour 1/4 cup of mineral oil into a small saucepan. Heat the saucepan on the stove to warm the mineral oil.
-
7
Pour a couple drops of the warm mineral oil into the clogged ears, using an eyedropper. The mineral oil will soothe your ears and help drain out fluids.
-
8
Apply a couple drops of pure grain alcohol to each ear, using an eyedropper. The pure grain alcohol will relieve your clogged ears, but is only necessary if the mineral oil didn't work.

Tips & Warnings
A couple drops of glycerin can be used instead of mineral oil.
Do not use sharp objects such as safety pins, pens or pencils to remove wax from your ears. Your eardrum can become damaged.
See your doctor immediately if you have persistent ear pain, or if you notice blood, pus, swelling, redness, hearing loss, or dizziness. You may have a severe infection.
