How to Send an SMS With MSN Messenger
Technology today has made it easier to communicate with instant messenger services like MSN Messenger. You can also choose other ways to communicate with MSN Messenger contacts, including sending emails, sending offline messages and SMS messages (text).

- Computer
- MSN Messenger
- Internet connection
- Messenger contact phone number (cell)

Sign into MSN Messenger using the messenger window.

View the buddy list and highlight or hover over the contact's name that you wish to send an SMS message to. If the contact has a phone number listed in his profile to receive SMS messages, an option to send one will be included with other selections, such as sending an email to him or viewing his profile.

Choose to "send a mobile text" (SMS) to that contact. If the option is not available under her name, choose "Actions" on the messenger toolbar. Click "Send other" and send a message to mobile device. A separate window will pop up and alert you that the recipient may be charged for messages by her phone service provider.

Type your message in the space or box provided and click "enter." This will send your message and alert the recipient that he has received a message via MSN Messenger. If the recipient responds, the message will appear in the messenger window.
