Wood laminate floors have the same elegant look as hardwood floors, but they are generally less expensive to install and are easier to keep clean. While laminate floors are durable, they still need routine care to continue looking their best. Tracking in dirt from outdoors is a normal occurrence in any household, but dirt is abrasive and can scratch laminate flooring if you don't clean the laminate flooring properly. Remove the surface dirt and dust from your laminate floors. Use a dust mop or a vacuum cleaner with a wood-floor attachment.

Remove tougher dirt and grime with a mop. Dampen a mop with plain water, wring the mop out as thoroughly as possible, and run it over the entire floor. Dry the floor completely with a clean, soft cloth.

Apply a non-abrasive spray cleaner to any spots on the floor. Run over the area with the mop. Dry the area with a clean, soft cloth.

Wipe up spills immediately with a sponge, then dry the area with a clean, soft cloth.
Keep laminate floors as dry as possible.
Don't use soap and abrasive cleansers on your laminate flooring. Plain water will suffice.
Refrain from polishing and waxing your laminate floors.
