How to Get Call of Duty 4 Maps for Free

Infinity Ward released "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" in 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game proved to be successful, causing Infinity Ward to continually update the game via patches. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions cost money to update the map pack, but the PC version offers free updates. The version 1.6 patch contains four free maps for PC "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" enthusiasts. Download and install the patch to enjoy Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse and Creek maps.

Instructions

1. Visit www.fileplanet.com/185051/180000/fileinfo/Call-of-Duty-4:-Modern-Warfare-v1.6-Patch. You will see the "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" patch version 1.6 patch at this location.

2. Click on "Download Now" in the middle of the page. This will take you to the download page.

3. Select the free public server in the middle of the list. Use trial and error to select a server that works for you. Most of the time, any of the servers will work.

4. Download the patch. If your computer has a firewall enabled, it will ask you to allow for the download to proceed. Select "Allow".

5. Open the patch. This will install the patch into your version of "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare." Follow all on-screen instructions.
