How to Iron Wrinkled Silk Taffeta Curtains
Taffeta is a beautiful, crisp fabric made from silk and synthetic fibers. It is a high end fabric that is often used in cocktail and wedding dresses and curtains. If bunched up, the fabric wrinkles easily. Because taffeta is made of fine materials such as silk, extra care and caution needs to be taken when cleaning and removing wrinkles from this type of fabric. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Turn your iron on to a low setting. The low setting is often labeled as "silk," "synthetic" or similar.
-
2
Place the taffeta curtain on an ironing board. Lay the fabric as flat as possible.

3
Dampen a thin cotton cloth with water. Place the dampened cloth over a single area of the curtain.
-
4
Iron over the thin cloth. The water from the cloth will transfer to the taffeta making it much easier to get the wrinkles out. Keep moving the iron to ensure you don't burn the fabric. Move the taffeta curtain to a new area and continue ironing until all wrinkles have been removed.
-
5
Hang up the curtains from a line using clothespins. Hanging the fabric will ensure the taffeta doesn't become wrinkled again.
