1
Get references from friends and associates of reputable appliance rental shops in your area. Speak to shop assistants to see how helpful they are; that may provide some indication of the quality of service you will get if you do business with them.
-
2
Compare prices from multiple shops. Take into account rental time, accessories needed, delivery and set-up charges. Make sure you fully understand insurance rates and terms.
-
-
3
A telephone helpline can be invaluable. Request the shops to fax or email you the specifications for the projectors they rent. Look for specifications such as sharp XGA resolution and bright display (3000 lumens or more). Assess ease of use of your preferred model by looking for features described as "hassle-free," "easy to use," "convenient" and "flexible."
-
4
Verify projectors are tested before every hire period to ensure optimum reliability. Confirm that help is readily accessible for setup and operation advice. Ensure that the projector is transported in a sturdy padded box, case or bag. Note the contents of the peripherals pack, which should ideally include cables, remote control, spare bulb, manuals, telephone helpline number and contents checklist.
-
5
Sign the rental contract when you are happy with the deal, secure in the knowledge that you've taken the necessary steps to ensure your satisfaction.
-
6
Unpack the projector and peripherals as soon as possible after delivery to verify that all items are present and in good order. Set up the projector to confirm it is working. Ring the telephone helpline with any queries or complaints.

Tips & Warnings
Always place the projector on a flat and stable surface.
Rentals can be done over the Internet, too, but you will be unable to assess the quality of service face-to-face.
Schedule delivery prior to the first day's hire, if possible, to allow setup time and practice before your first planned use of the equipment.
"Picture by picture" is a useful feature for business, as it allows you to project two visual sources, such as two sets of data, at the same time.
Keep fingers away from hot parts of the projector.
Ensure that cables are not kinked or causing a trip hazard.
Do not stare directly into the light beam from the projector.
