How to Become a Licensed Insurance Agent in New Mexico
Insurance agents must be licensed by the state of New Mexico before transacting business there. Unlike some other states, New Mexico does not require pre-licensing education training for agents prior to taking the state exam. Testing and application submission is done primarily through the state's approved vendor Prometric. You must follow the licensing application instructions exactly as listed on the New Mexico Public Relations Commission website. If you fail to follow the instructions, your application could be delayed or denied.
