How to Set Up a Hard Drive on a Dell Computer
Setting up a new hard drive involves formatting the drive so that it is accessible to the native operating system installed by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), such as Dell. While hard drives require no device driver software, they do require that they are logically set up within the Dell computer to allow for the operating system and motherboard to effectively communicate with the hard drive. Formatting the drive is accomplished through Windows "Disk Management" utility.
