      Buy a salt chlorine generator at your local pool supply store or online or at a home improvement store. You’ll need to know the exact amount of water your pool holds in gallons. You’ll also need to know if your pool is above or in ground, and the approximate shape of the pool.

      Connect the tubes and wiring to the new pump. Salt chlorine generators have the same connections as regular pool pumps. The connections will line up on the salt chlorine generator as they did on the old pump. Make sure that all seals are tight.
