How to Get Rid of Squirrels With Poison
Some people may think squirrels are cute and fun to watch from time to time, but they can also be an extreme menace to your home and garden. Squirrels will feed on just about anything, including pet food, flowers, nuts and birdseed. They can also chew through your roof and get into your attic or chimney. If you have a squirrel problem, using poison is one method of getting rid of the population. Does this Spark an idea?

Buy a rat poison from your local hardware or home improvement shop.

Walk around your house and yard to determine which places are attracting the squirrels, such as your dog's food bowl on the back deck or a particicular spot on the roof.

Fill a small bowl with a liberal amount of the poison. Place the bowl in an area away from any children or pets.

Leave the poison out overnight. Check the area around the poison or the grounds of your home for dead squirrels.

Use gloves and a shovel to place the dead carcasses into a trash bag for disposal.

Tips & Warnings
Rat poison will work on squirrels as well as mice and rats.
Do not leave the poison where a pet or child can get to it.
Do not touch the squirrel by hand. Squirrels carry diseases.

All you do by catching and releasing them 10 miles away is make them someone else's problem. That's a very selfish way to ease your concious. Be a responsible adult and kill them or let them live in your attic.

D-Con works as well as bird seed with walfrin (rat poison.) It makes the squirrels hemorage and they find their way to sewers to drink water due to internal dehydration. When they eat your tomatoes and dig up your garden bulbs you won't feel so bad. They are destructive rodents.

They have eaten all the rose buds off my bushes and I got tomatoes coming soon. I will sleep on it...but of course you know this means war. I wish I had an owl or hawk.

you are cold, timothy...LOL...i had a squirrel problem some years ago...they gnawed their way into my attic...exterminator told me to save my money and just go buy some traps which i did...i asked him what do i do with them after i catch them...he said i could either fill a garbage can with water and throw them in or drive them at least 5 miles away (anything less and they would find their way back)...i put the cage in a paper bag, then a plastic bag, put it in my trunk and drove 10 miles away b4 releasing them!
