Easy Set pools are above-ground pools that come in a variety of sizes and can be ready to use in as little as 30 minutes. While actual cleaning is essential for taking care of your Easy Set pool, maintenance and preventative measures will ensure that the pool stays clean and lasts through several seasons. By keeping your pool clean, you won't have to drain and refill it throughout the season in order to deal with algae and debris.
Things You'll Need
- pH kit
- Clean cloths
- Pool chemicals
- Pool cover
- Pool vacuum
Wipe the ring of the Easy Set pool with a clean cloth each time the pool is used. Wiping the ring off will eliminate the tanning lotion, body oil and other things that may accumulate there. Make swimmers rinse off before they get in the pool to reduce the amount of dirt and other debris that might end up in the water.
Test the pH level of the water on a regular basis. Purchase a pH kit from any pool supply company and dip the test strips in the water. Maintaining a normal pH level—between 7.2 and 7.8—will ensure that the chlorine is cleaning the pool properly. Add pH minus if the level is high, pH plus if the level is low.
Add chlorine to the water to prevent algae from forming or to kill it if it's already there. The amount you will need depends on the size of your Easy Set pool. Follow the instructions on the chlorine package to determine how much to use.
Run the pump a few hours each day to filter leaves and grass from the water. Empty the filter basket every day to remove the debris. Replace the filter cartridge when it becomes dirty to maximize its effectiveness.
Vacuum the bottom and sides of the pool with a pool vacuum at least once a week. This will remove dirt and algae from your Easy Set pool.
Cover the pool with a tarp or pool cover when it isn't being used. This will help keep leaves and other debris out of the water. Do not allow pets to play in or near the pool to avoid pet hair or additional dirt and grass from entering the pool.
Scrub the bottom and sides of the pool using a mild detergent, such as dish soap, any time you drain it. Rinse the pool thoroughly before refilling.
Tips & Warnings
- Clean the Easy Set pool thoroughly and let it dry completely before storing it for the year. This will ensure that the pool is clean for the following season.
