How to Process Unclaimed Refunds Online
Your IRS unclaimed refund is the amount of money you are supposed to get back from the government after filing your taxes. If it was not claimed for some reason, you did not get the money. It might be that your information was incorrect. It might also be that the refund has not been processed and will arrive when processing is complete. There are several ways to process the unclaimed refunds from the IRS, as long as you have filed your taxes correctly. Once you process them, the unclaimed refunds will come to you.

Click on the "Where's My Refund" link at the IRS web page, listed in resources.

Enter your Social Security number. Then, click the circle next to the sentence that describes how you filed your taxes: single, married or jointly. Enter the amount of your refund. Click "Submit."

Read the information on the next page. If your refund is still processing, there is no need for you to do anything further. You should get an idea of when the refund will arrive. If the page tells you to do something else to process your refund, follow those directions. Steps for processing a refund might include changing your address, re-entering your bank account information, re-submitting a page or more of your tax return, or finishing your tax filing.
