How to Clean a Mooring Canvas Boat Cover
A mooring boat cover is designed to cover a boat while it is mooring, or being stored in the water. It is made to resist rain, salt water and withstand sea air. Most mooring canvas boat covers are made from a material called Sunbrella. Sunbrella is a woven acrylic fabric most commonly used due to its mildew and UV resistance and its ability to repel water. Mooring boat covers should be cleaned regularly to remove salt water residue, rain residue and any surface residue.

Use a medium-bristle cleaning brush to brush down the cover while it is still on the boat, making sure to remove all dirt, dust and debris.

Mix warm water and 1 tbsp. liquid dish washing soap per gallon of water in a bucket. In lieu of dish washing soap, non-detergent soap can be used. Use a large sponge to rub the mixture onto the boat cover. Continue rubbing and cleaning the cover.
