Repair the failing seam of your drum wrap.

Drum wraps are a cheap and efficient way to customize your drums with style. Many companies will print any computer graphic on a drum wrap, making your drum kit unique. Time, temperature and daily use take their tolls on the condition of your drum wraps. The seam of the wrap may start to peel back. Applying contact cement will help fuse the drum wrap to the shell.

Things You'll Need

  • 3M 30NF contact cement
  • 120-grit sandpaper
  • Clamp

Instructions

    • 1

Lightly sand the surface where the seam has begun to recede. Sand away any glue or contact cement left over from previous installation of the wrap.

    • 2

Apply 3M 30NF contact cement where the seam meets the shell. Lightly dab the inside seam of the wrap with the contact cement applicator.

    • 3

Fasten the seam of the wrap and the drum shell securely with a clamp. Let the contact cement cure for at least 12 hours. The cement must be completely dry before you can use the drum.

Tips & Warnings

  • 3M 30NF contact cement is safe for drum wraps. Other contact cements or glues may eat into the wrap and cause damage.
