How to Make Indiana Jones Party Favors
With four movies released, the Indiana Jones character has a large fan base. Several companies make party favors for fans who want to host their own Indy-style party. The favors can be expensive, especially if you have a large number of guests. Making your own Indiana Jones party favors is not only cheaper, but it also gets your guests involved in party activities. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Hold an Indiana Jones cupcake bar, where guests make their own cupcakes to take home. Use chocolate frosted cupcakes and let guests decorate the cupcakes with items found in the movies. Plastic or gummy spiders, gummy worms and chocolate cookie crumbles for "dirt" are all good choices.

2
Make trail mix, to mimic the food Indiana Jones eats. Combine granola, nuts, raisins, chocolate-coated candies and anything else you like. Fill small plastic bags with the trail mix and write "Indy's Favorite Mix" on the outside.

Tear or cut an old shirt, preferably khaki-colored, into small square pieces. Pile candy or small toys in the center. Pull the sides of the cloth up to form a bag and wrap a piece of twine around the top. Pass out your handmade goody bags to your guests.

4
Braid thin leather pieces together and give each guest their own whip, just like the one used by Indiana Jones in the movies. Wrap the ends of the leather around your hand before braiding, which creates a small "handle." Braid just the first few inches and leave the rest of the leather hanging loose.

5
Open each journal and write a note along the inside, telling the guests that the book is "Indy's Field Journal." Encourage the guests to write their own notes about the party and to use the journal in the future, to record observations about the things going on around them.

Tips & Warnings
You can also make your own survival kit for guests, similar to those that archaeologists might use in the field. Fill the kit with a journal or notebook, pencil, flashlight, magnifying glass and other small items.
