How to Trim Out a Pella Window
Pella is one of the world's top names in windows, with lines of wood, vinyl and aluminum for new and replacement installation. Whatever type of Pella window you're installing, the process of trimming it out is going to be the same. The trim covers the space between the window casing and the wall frame, while visually integrating the window opening to the rest of the room. You can trim any kind of window in wood trim, with mitered corners, which provides a clean, modern look.

1
Measure along the top horizontal side of the casing of your installed Pella window. The casing is the border of wood or vinyl around the outermost edge of the window unit, just inside the opening. Measure from corner to corner.
-
2
Mark out the measurement on a piece of wood trim. Don't start the measurement from the end of the piece, but rather put a mark about 6 inches in from the end, then measure off that mark for the second mark.

3
Lay the trim on a miter saw, with the lower edge of the trim against the back rail of the saw and the face up. Slide the piece so one of the lines is under the blade. Swivel the blade to 45 degrees outward (pointing away from both marks). Cut the trim.
-
4
Move the trim so the other mark is under the blade. Swivel the blade in the opposite direction as before. Cut the trim.
-
5
Hold the trim above the window opening, with the bottom edge of the trim lined up with the top edge of the Pella casing. Line up the two mitered cuts at the ends so the lines angle upward off each corner. Secure the trim with your pin nailer, shooting in headless pins in pairs, every foot or so.
-
6
Repeat the process to cut and install trim around the other four sides. The miters should form the four corners like a picture frame.
