      Shut down the computer and remove any wires that might be connected to it. Use a table and work area to begin opening the laptop. Use a cup or similar container to keep any loose screws from becoming lost screws. Wrap the ESD wrist wrap around your wrist before following the next step.

      Place the laptop on its back so the battery back and vents are facing up toward you. Find five screws that are presented in a square arrangement on the right side of the laptop's underside.

      Using the screwdriver, unscrew all of the screws and place them in the cup for safekeeping. Slide the tip of the screwdriver underneath the square plastic cover and remove it.

      Reverse the steps if you wish to put everything back together to its original condition.
