Only certain types of jewelry can be cleaned with vodka, so watch out!

Vodka can be used to clean some, but not all, jewelry. Use vodka for cleaning diamonds, emeralds and any other jewelry containing crystalline gemstones. Make sure to keep the vodka away from any jewelry or gemstones not made of crystal. Applying vodka to any jewelry other than crystalline gemstones can tarnish and deconstruct the jewelry's physical structure. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Vodka
  • Two soft, dry cloths

Instructions

    • 1

      Pour a small amount of vodka into a glass. Dip a napkin or soft cloth into the vodka.

      For slighty dirty gemstones, rub them with the vodka-soaked napkin or cloth. Dip another napkin or soft cloth in clean water and use it to rinse off the jewelry, then wipe it with a dry, soft cloth.

      Soak very dirty crystalline jewelry in the glass of vodka. Let the jewelry sit for five minutes.

    • 4

      Remove the jewelry from the vodka glass. Rinse the jewelry in clean water, then wipe the it with a soft, dry cloth.
