How to Revoke a Michigan Bail Bond
If you have posted bond for a person in Michigan but you don't think that person will show up for his court date, you can apply to have the bond revoked before he forfeits and you lose all of your money. To do this, you must follow the state's bail law guidelines. If you posted the bail bond yourself, you can follow legal protocol to attempt to revoke it on your own. If a professional bondsman posted the bond, you must go to him with a legitimate reason for your request.

1
Gather your bond receipt and photo identification and go to the courthouse where you originally posted the bail bond. Find the court that handled the bail posting and ask the clerk for instructions and the proper form to request the bond revoke order. Do the same thing with a professional bondsman service and tell them that you want to revoke the bond and why.

2
Fill out the petition that the court gives you to file your request. Make sure to give the exact reasons why you want to withdraw the bond order. The bondsman will handle this process if the bail bond was paid through him. Ask the bondsman to inform you of the court decision if they handle it. Bondsmen will keep a percentage of the money paid for the bond if the judge revokes it.

Turn the paperwork back in to the court clerk and follow the instructions given to you after that. The bonded person has so many days to respond to the request to revoke his bail bond in court and prove why he disagrees with it. Go to court on the date appointed for the defendant to prove himself worthy of the continued bail bond and explain your case to the judge. Only the judge has the power to revoke the bail bond.
