Tips & Warnings

  • When trimming the stem from the pumpkin don't cut into the body of the pumpkin, just trim the stem to minimize damage to the pumpkin.

  • Bring one of the candles you'll be using with you when you purchase your pumpkins to make sure the candle is taller than the pumpkins.

  • For larger tables, simply add more pumpkin candle holders. Small tables can just use the central pumpkin with autumn leaves.

  • Older children can help with this project with adult supervision. Be careful when using the hot glue gun as the gun and the glue can burn you. Always practice safe knife-handling skills. Be sure to select pumpkins that sit firmly upright to minimize the chance they will be knocked over. When lit, candles should not be left unattended.
