Microsoft Front Page 2002 Tutorial
When it comes to web design and HTML editing, Microsoft Front Page 2002 is the program of choice for many users, from beginners to expert developers. With Front Page, you can begin running a web page quickly. If you are familiar with other Microsoft programs, such as all of those included in Microsoft Office, you will quickly become comfortable with Front Page, since it uses the same interface as those programs.

1
Open Front Page and click the "New Page" icon in the top left to start a new page. Click the options in the toolbar to read the drop-down menus. Like Microsoft Word and Excel, these options include "File," "Edit," "View," "Insert" and "Format." Familiarize yourself with the locations of important features, such as "Save" (located under "File") or "Undo" (located under "Edit").

2
Look at the vertical task pane on the left side of the screen. There are six icons available: "Page," which allows you access to edit the pages on your website; "Folders," which gives you a view to your folders; "Reports," which allows you to view reports on topics, such as visitor statistics; "Navigation," which helps you see how visitors will navigate the various pages on your website; "Hyperlinks," where you can view any internal or external links on your website; and "Tasks," which are useful for those designating work on the website to one or more users.

Click inside the blank space under your "New Page" tab, and type as you would in a word document. Use HTML code for rich text and other effects. Insert graphics and images by clicking "Insert Picture," selecting a picture, and clicking "Insert" -- the pictures may be PNG, JPG or GIF files. You cannot resize or otherwise edit your image within Front Page.

4
Edit the colors and theme of your web page. Go to "Format" in the toolbar and choose "Background," then select from the options for color and style of your background. For wallpaper, click the "Background Picture" option, then select "Browse" and choose an image to serve as a background from your computer.
-
5
Look at the three tabs on the bottom left of your screen labeled "Normal," "HTML" and "Preview." Click back and forth between these tabs to view your work in a visual mode ("Normal"), the mode for HTML editing, or "Preview," which allows you to view your web page as viewers will see it on the Internet.
