How to Choose Tuning Forks for Healing
Holistic healers often use resonant sound to focus and relax their patients. They believe the sound vibrations share rhythms with specific energy points in the body and that these vibrations can realign and cleanse energies to promote well-being. Though some practitioners use singing bowls for resonant sound, others prefer tuning forks. Tuning forks are more readily available than singing bowls, not to mention lighter and easier to transport. Selecting the right tuning forks for your purposes is one of the most important parts of vibrational healing. The wrong tools could do more harm than good. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Decide which metal tuning fork to use, either aluminum or steel. Some like the deeper resonance of steel tuning forks but aluminum forks are lighter and easier to hold through long healing sessions. Strike a few of each, making sure to grab the same frequencies in each material. Choose the material that feels most comfortable in your hands and gives the best sound to your ears.

2
Choose between weighted and unweighted tuning forks. Weighted tuning forks have heavy, round weights at the ends so you can feel the vibrations through the forks to the handles. They're recommended for physical pain, inflammation and muscle tension. Unweighted forks have no weights and produce minimal vibrations. They're recommended for promoting spiritual awareness, emotional wellbeing, relaxation and balancing bodily energies.

Pick a selection of frequencies based on your needs. If you're healing a specific ailment or energy misalignment, choose a single fork based specifically on the ailment. For stomach ailments choose a 126.22 frequency to match the solar plexus chakra. For meditation to improve intuition, select a 211.44 fork associated with Neptune's energies.

Choose a combination of forks if you want to do a general healing or realign chakras and bodily energies. A set with forks corresponding to each chakra works well. It gives you plenty of combinations and options, especially if you're planning a long-term healing practice.
