How to Unlock the Wireless Internet
For security purposes, it is advised that users lock their home wireless network. This prevents would-be hackers from accessing your data, computers and/or private personal information. If you've come across a locked wireless network and want to access it, you will need the security key or password. This is an alphanumeric term set up by the network owner.

Bring your Wi-Fi-enabled computer within range of the wireless network. Ensure that the wireless adapter is powered (some computers have an on/off switch).

Double-click the wireless Internet icon in the Windows system tray (lower right-hand corner). You can also right-click the icon and select "View Available Wireless Networks," or select "Connect To" from the "Start" menu.

Select the network and click "Connect."

Enter the security key for the particular wireless Internet connection. Click "Connect" again. Once the key is accepted, you will have successfully unlocked the wireless Internet.
