DIY Van Graphics

Decals and graphics make eye-popping statements on any vehicle.

Having the right graphics on a van is the difference between an average automobile and an eye-catcher. Adding decals and graphic designs to vans costs a fortune at an auto-body shop. For a low-cost, high-impact auto display, design and apply graphic art to your vehicle at home.

  1. Creating the Graphics

    • 1

Sketch out the design for the graphic. Cut the finished design out.

    • 2

Lay the vinyl sheeting out flat with the paper side facing up. Trace the sketched design onto the paper backing of the vinly sheet.

    • 3

Cut the design out of the vinyl sheeting with the X-acto knife.

    Apply the Decal

    • 4

Wash and wax the van. Dry the vehicle completely.

    • 5

Map out the desired location for the decal using masking tape.

    • 6

Peel the paper off the vinyl sheeting and press the design onto the car body. Smooth the decals out using a towel. Remove the masking tape from around the design.
