How to Write a Chat Script for Warcraft
Creating scripts or macros in World of Warcraft adds another dimension to the game by letting you do repetitive tasks quickly. Commands you enter run one after the other, without delay. They execute faster than you would be able to type them in the chat window.
In addition to simple chat scripts, you can create macros to cast a sequence of spells, tell other players about problems, dangers or protocols, or shift equipment. Create a script for a single character or share scripts at an account level with all your characters, regardless of the server they were created on.

Tips & Warnings
A macro is automatically updated as you change it, so there's no need to save it. A maximum of 255 characters is allowed. Note that the status line shows how many characters have been used.
Include special characters in your script by pressing NUM LOCK and holding down the ALT key while you type the number assigned to the special character. Use the numeric keypad. When you release the ALT key, the special character will appear.
Experiment with creating your own chat scripts. Some players have turned plain online chat into an art form. In addition to providing lots of entertainment in idle game moments, macros can be useful in combat or raid situations when there isn't time to do much typing.
