How to Set a Scio Scan Atomic Clock

Position your SkyScan SioScan clock near a window that faces Fort Collins, Colorado to ensure that it will be able to receive the radio-transmitted time signal. For best results, situate the clock at least 6 feet away from electronic devices, such as televisions or computers, which can interfere with the signal strength.

Plug the clock into a standard AC wall outlet. Insert batteries into the clock's battery compartment, if desired, to provide a backup power source in case the clock is accidentally unplugged or if the power goes out. Be sure to observe the correct polarity when installing the batteries.

Slide the clock's "DST" switch into the "On" position so that the clock will automatically adjust itself for Daylight Savings Time. Leave the "DST" switch in the "Off" position if you live in one of the areas of Arizona or Indiana that doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time.

Press the "Set" button on your SkyScan SioScan clock repeatedly until the "Time Zone" indicator, located under the time display, begins blinking. Note that Pacific Standard Time, or "PST", is the default timezone setting for your clock. Press the "Up" or "Down" button to select a different timezone.

Wait up to 20 minutes for the clock to receive the WWVB atomic time signal. When the clock has successfully received the signal, it will automatically display the correct time.

Tips & Warnings
If your clock has trouble receiving the WWVB atomic time signal, you can force it to search for the signal again by pressing the "Wave" button.
