How to Enable Task Manager Manually

Enable the Task Manager with a single click.

The Task Manager is an essential feature of Windows operating systems. The Task Manager allows you to view which programs are running on your computer and the performance of the computer. In some computers, the Task Manager is disabled by default. If it is disabled, you can access the Registry Editor and enable the Task Manager.

Instructions

1. Access the "Start" menu.

2. Click "Run," type "regedit" and click "OK." If you have Windows 7 or Vista, simply type "msconfig" into the search bar at the bottom of the "Start" menu.

3. Access the following location: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies."

4. Access the "System" folder. Click on "DisableTaskMGR," change the value to zero and click "OK."
