1
Check with your local law enforcement to determine if the land you want to lease out to hunters is within in an area that individuals are allowed to hunt. Most cities don't allow the use of firearms, so the land needs to be in the county, outside of city limits.

2
Contact the Kentucky wildlife agency. Inquire about permits that need to be acquired to lease the land for hunting. Because it is private property, there shouldn't be any issues as long as everyone who hunts on the land has a hunting permit, which is required in Kentucky. But check to make sure the laws haven't changed.

3
Contact the county tax department or county clerk to determine if you need a business or other license. If there are, fill them out and pay any fees required.

4
Plant things that deer like in various areas around your property. For example, deer like corn and milo. These food plots will attract animals to your land so that you will have plenty for hunters to go after. Make sure that there is some cover near the food plots so the animals have a chance. It isn't sporting to lure deer into the open without having some type of escape.

5
Advertise the property for lease in local papers and hunting magazines. Make up fliers and ask if you can place them in gun and sporting goods shops. For deer season in Kentucky, advertise that the property is open from October until mid-January. Deer season in the Bluegrass State runs that long for various types of hunting, such as bow and gun.
