1. Consult legal advice to assist you in forming an appropriate business entity such as sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation; obtaining business and liquor licenses, seller's permit, store leases and other legal matters. Check with your city and county governments to determine local and industry requirements and labor practices. For example, the Fire Department requires some special permits and procedures when selling alcoholic beverages such as daiquiris. Consult an accountant for financial advice on taxes, business accounting, financing, payroll and other financial matters.

2. Find a store location with the correct zoning for selling daiquiris and population demographics with more adults and dispensable income. Ensure that the other retail stores complement your store. For example, a gourmet deli is a complementary store to a daiquiri store. Carefully examine the leasing costs and contracts.

3. Consult architects, interior designers and other professionals to assist you in the store design and layout. Discuss with your landlord improvements or changes that you want to make for your store before pursuing them. Your exterior such as the signage, size of the store window and entryway must communicate the image that you want to project for your daiquiri store. Your store layout and fixtures must be visually appealing to present your daiquiri products and attract customers.
