How to Set a Screensaver on an HP With Windows XP

Windows XP allows you to change screensaver settings.

The Windows XP operating system gives you the ability to easily change the screensaver on your HP computer. The changes you make to the screensaver settings will take effect immediately, with no need to reboot your computer. It is also possible to use personalized screensavers, such as slideshows and movie files, instead of using the preloaded files.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button, and then select "Control Panel." Double-click on the "Display" icon.

2. Click on "Screensaver." The screensaver settings window will appear.

3. Open the "Screensaver" drop-down menu and select the screensaver file you would like to use.

4. Click on "Settings" to customize the speed, size, or color of the selected screensaver.

5. Click the "Preview" to see how the computer will display the screensaver.

6. Click the "Apply" button for the changes to take effect. Click the "OK" button to exit.
