How to Connect a Touch Screen Monitor
Touch screen monitors are used in many different applications from home computers to point-of-sale devices. Touch screens allow you to input directly to the monitor instead of using a pointing device such as a mouse or a keyboard. Touch screen monitors can be used on computers that are not natively set up for touch screen input by using driver and utility software to provide touch functionality.
Instructions

-
1
Put your touch screen monitor in place. Plug the monitor into power.
-
2
Attach the interface cable to the back of the monitor. These cables are usually DVI, HDMI or VGA cables, unless the monitor is being used in a proprietary business or industrial application. Connect the cable to the display adapter port on the back of your computer or system.
-
-
3
Insert the input cable, usually USB, serial or PS/2, into the appropriate slot on your computer. The secondary cable sends the input signals to the computer.
-
4
Turn on your computer and insert the installation disk that came with the monitor. Your operating system may recognize the touch screen monitor automatically, but you still need to install the drivers and software to take full advantage of the touch capabilities. The installation procedures vary greatly depending on the manufacturer and type of touch screen monitor, so follow the on-screen instructions exactly.
-
5
Use your finger to make a few motions on the touch screen monitor to confirm it is tracking your finger movements.
